This was one of the longest travel days of my trip, going from Santa Teresa to the Arenal Volcano area using a shared shuttle Costa Rica transfer. I was traveling solo with a backpack and a small suitcase, and I remember leaving before sunrise while the coastal air was still warm and dry. The ferry crossing provided a nice break in the middle of the journey. As we continued inland, the scenery gradually changed into greener, more humid surroundings. Closer to Arenal, the roads became more winding, and at one point the clouds lifted just enough to reveal part of the volcano. There were a few well-timed stops along the way that helped reset. By the time we arrived, I was tired but really impressed with how smooth the whole experience felt.

Traveling with my partner and two backpacks, we chose a shuttle service Costa Rica option to avoid dealing with multiple connections ourselves. The instructions were clear the day before, especially about the ferry timing. It’s definitely a full-day journey, but there are a few planned stops that help. I started to feel a bit tired toward the end, especially as the weather became more humid closer to Arenal, but everything was smooth and well coordinated.

I took a shared shuttle Costa Rica ride from Santa Teresa to Arenal Volcano and it was a long but organized day. Pickup was very early, and I was still tired from the beach days. The ferry crossing helped break up the journey, which I liked. It got pretty hot later on, but inside stayed cool. Everything ran on time, which made it easier.
