We booked this shuttle after spending Christmas in San José, and by departure morning I was running on very little sleep. My husband had one big suitcase, I had a backpack plus a tote full of snacks, and I remember worrying the transfer day would feel endless. Instead, it was much easier than I expected. The pickup went smoothly from our hotel, everyone settled in quickly, and the atmosphere stayed quiet for most of the journey. What I liked most was having time to just look outside while the scenery slowly changed. Leaving the city behind, the air felt warmer, the landscape opened up, and little by little the whole day started to feel like the start of a beach holiday instead of another travel chore. I also appreciated not having to think about directions or road conditions. Using transportation in Costa Rica this way gave us a gentler arrival, and by the time we reached RIU Guanacaste, I felt relaxed instead of worn out.

My sister and I picked this because we were staying at RIU Guanacaste for only a few days and did not want the hassle of renting a car in San José. That ended up being the right decision. The collection from our hotel was well organized, our larger bags fit easily, and the seats were comfortable enough for a longer ride. There were a couple of passenger stops, which we expected, but it never felt messy. Once the road became more winding, I was happy not to be driving because I sometimes get motion sickness. As shuttle service Costa Rica choices go, this one felt practical, calm, and worth it.

I took this shuttle from San José to RIU Guanacaste after two nights in the city, and it was an easy experience overall. Pickup was on time, and I liked not having to figure out the long route myself. I was already tired from changing hotels, so just getting into an air-conditioned van felt great. There were a few other travelers, but the ride stayed relaxed. For a shared shuttle Costa Rica option, this was smooth and straightforward.
